I really enjoyed reading this story. I especially identified with the heroine because, while I never had a terrible accident, I've lived with chronic, debilitating pain for many years and only recently, through a new treatment (dry needling) and continued exercise have I had a remarkable improvement, so I had a real connection there. Also, having the heroine worried about genuine issues (like whether her scars would be a turn off in a sexual situation) was a refreshing change from the usual light romance novels and with the hero dealing with his own serious issues (his wife's infidelity throughout their marriage), the story has real depth to it.

This book is well written with only a few small editing mistakes that didn't take away from the smooth flow of the style which went easily from the first page to the last. The imagery was exceptionally fine, and my mind's eye was really caught up in this story so that I could practically see what was happening because the descriptions were so well done.

So, if you are looking for a romantic story that you can really get lost in, I definitely recommend that you read this one ASAP. Happy Reading! ❤️

This is a lovely story about two separate individuals finding one another despite what they've been through. The two main leads have been through a lot lately and everything seems to be going downhill for them. I wouldn't ever expect them to ever meet each other, but it is surprising they did. Before I express my opinions about this book, let's take a look at the two main leads.

The male lead is Oliver. Oliver is your everyday honest, loving, and protective husband. However, his wife on the other hand has been everything but opposite. She has been secretly cheating on him and he never seemed to notice. So it natural that he will develop trust issues with other people since he's basically been living a life for the past six years. I felt really bad for Oliver because he doesn't deserve this at all.

The female lead is Mackenzie. Mackenzie's life has been turned upside down ever since her tragic car accident. Her body has been in bad shape and she even lost her job due to the accident. However, she is extremely confident that everything will go back to the way it was. I can really relate to Mackenzie because I've also been in a car accident in my life that really changed my life. So I can totally understand what she is going through.

But guess what? The two became neighbors! At first, relations are sour, but they quickly improve as time goes by. The author, Sarah Mayberry did a damn fine job developing these two characters and the interactions they've had between them. It went from disliking each other to suddenly become friends and to even have sexual tensions later on.

I love how the situation of the two lead characters improve more and more as you read throughout the book. The conflicts were presented realistically. None of the events in this story was predictable. A lot of it took me by surprise. It's delightful to know that Oliver can finally trust someone after what's he been through. And for Mackenzie, I'm so happy to see her world going back to the way it is. I absolutely loved this story! Thank you, Sarah Mayberry.
I have finished reading The Other Side of Us by Sarah Mayberry, and I loved it. There are a lot of intense emotions but they are covered up with humor. This book was hilarious. It took me a couple chapters to realize that the story is happening in Australia. Once I did, the characters took on an Aussie accent and the story became even funnier. We all say "LOL" so much lately, but Mayberry actually had me Laughing Out Loud numerous times through the book. Consider this fair warning before you start reading this at work, or school or anywhere else reading is probably not appropriate, you'll get caught.
Also, I loved the characters. They are very well developed. You get a very good sense of their physical attributes as well as their personalities.Which seems to be a hard thing for some writers to accomplish, Mayberry does it fabulously. The are the two main characters, hero Oliver and heroine Mackenzie, as well as two canoodling canine co-stars who will keep you laughing throughout the novel.
I only have one warning for this novel other than the "bursting out laughing" and it's sex. There is quite a bit of it and some of it's graphic. However, it's not too bad. Not pages and pages of the same love scene. There's no heavy drinking, drugs, or religion. Just comedic romance. I'm not sure if I paid for this book or if it was a free download, but if I did pay for it, it was worth it.
